ASNSW - 70th Anniversary Luncheon
To NSW Astronomical Societies,
The ASNSW is holding a 70th Anniversary Luncheon on Sunday 27 October, 11am to 3pm.
This is an invitation to anyone who would like to join us to celebrate. Please book by 10 October 2024.
The event will feature:
· * A full three-course luncheon, including wine, in the Agincourt Room at Curzon Hall, 53 Agincourt Rd, Marsfield.
· * A presentation by Tim Patston, son of the founder of our society. Tim will speak on “The Origins of the Indigenous Planisphere” and will have some of these for sale.
· * A presentation by Fred Watson. Fred has had a long career in professional astronomy and is a well-known broadcaster and populariser of astronomy. Fred is also an honorary member of the ASNSW.
· * A door prize sponsored by Donna the Astronomer. The prize is a Warrumbungle Getaway including two nights’ accommodation at the Warrumbungles Mountain Motel, one dinner, stargazing with Donna the Astronomer at Milroy Observatory and a daytime tour of Siding Spring Observatory. Every ticket holder who attends will have one entry into the draw.
This is also an opportunity to socialise and meet or catch up with members of the ASNSW.
The cost is $120 per person, but to make life easier, you can secure your booking by paying a $40 deposit now, and then pay the balance by 13 October. Bookings must be received by 10 October and special dietary requirements will be catered for.
