Hunter Valley Star Party - Astronomy Community members

Join NSAS at its Hunter Valley Star Party event. This partner friendly event is set up as a combination of astronomy and relaxing in a friendly atmosphere. You MUST be a financial member of another society - and your membership will be checked. Due to catering and other commitments that are made there are no refunds and hence please ensure you are able to attend the event. 

NB: There is no accommodation included with this booking and due to council rules no camping/caravans are permitted.

Our annual social event of the year the Hunter Valley Star party is on again in 2024!

Join us in the Hunter Valley for all your cheese, wine and astronomy needs! This event will again be held on the fields of the Grapevines Estate. This is not a "dark sky event" like the Coonabarabran star party. This Star party is more of a fun very partner and family-friendly event AND the best part is next year it is free for our members.

Kick off the night with our cheese and antipasto platters and gaze (or photograph) your night away with a fine bottle of wine you have selected that day. 

The weekend will include options for yummy group breakfast lunches and dinners at local cafes and restaurants with a few wine tours added in. Or you can go off on your own adventure and see and enjoy what the Hunter Valley has to offer. We will be putting out a timetable similar to 2023, where we suggest some local place to meet up. But again like last year it will be up to you to make your actual reservation.

We will be holding a dinner and drinks at the Grapevines estate on Saturday night again. So come along and meet and get to know all your fellow members and their partners in the light and put a face to the voice you have met in the dark. (this will be free to our members again as part of the event)

If the weather doesn't want to play along, don't worry your evening won't be wasted. We will head to Harrigans pub across the road for a few drinks and hope it passes over.
