We're close to releasing the 2026 Events list. Having completed 2 trial Astronomy Welcome Nights, they will become regular each month and are additional to our normal Astronomy nights. Happy New Year everyone!

Saturday 27th December is our 2nd 'Astro Welcome Night' at the PFA Belrose. Bring yourself, your questions (and your telescope if you already have one). A number of our experienced members will be there. Register in the Events section and don't forget to check at Midday that day for cancellation due to poor weather. 

This special General Meeting for Tuesday 18th November 2025 will be held at the 'Astro Shed' (Container) at PFA, followed by a members-only viewing night. The meeting will be live streamed. It's a clear night and an extra opportunity for members to bring their scopes and use them when the meeting is finished.

The new PixInsight SPCC process is well worth looking into.

It uses the latest Gaia satellite data from ESA to calibrate the colour in your RGB images. Gaia was launched in December 2013 and SPCC uses the 3rd release of data made available in June 2022.

I thought I'd post this blog after the final release of a YouTube video series that I've been watching was posted today. The series would be very helpful to someone setting up an imaging computer.

The series by Patriot Astro (linked below) has a few things I would do differently but the workflow, hardware and software
