About NSAS

Northern Sydney Astronomical Society has been meeting under southern skies since 1987, when we started around Halley's Comet, and hasn't stopped since. We're about 220 members based in Sydney's northern suburbs, covering everything from casual stargazing to serious astrophotography.

We run more than 50 events a year: monthly observing nights at our dark-sky field at Belrose, a visitor night the Saturday before so anyone can come check us out first, a beginners' Welcome Night, and a monthly general meeting with a guest speaker, often a working astronomer or researcher.

Our Belrose site has a container clubhouse, solar power, a first-aid kit and defibrillator on site, and a members' library, all built up by the club itself.
