1 03 2012

Observing for March at North Turramurra will be the Fridays 16th and 23rd. We did get Observing in late in February, so maybe our luck with the weather will continue.

Observing Fri. 24th Feb is ON

24 02 2012

It seems we will have some clear skies tonight at last.
Therefore observing tonight (Friday 24th February) is ON!

The location is North Turramurra Golf Club.
There is a map here:

http://nsas.org.au/contact/north-turramurra-golf-club/

The Sun sets at 7.39pm.
The Moon is a very thin 2 day old crescent and probably won’t be visible.

I will aim to be there to open the gates around 7pm.

Observing tonight 17 Feb cancelled

17 02 2012

Due to thunderstorms moving in, and a forecast of cloud behind them until late tonight, observing at North Turramurra is cancelled tonight. We’ll try again next Friday.

Observing for Feb

16 02 2012

Just a reminder for anyone interested that Observing at North Turramurra this month will be tomorrow, Fri the 17th, and next Fri the 24th. Tomorrow’s forecast is not good, so watch this space.

Observing Fri. 20th Jan. is OFF

20 01 2012

Yet again, the forecasts are for increasing cloud tonight.
So observing for tonight (Friday 20th January) is OFF.

We still have another chance next Friday (27th) when there will be a 4 day old crescent moon.

Peter Nosworthy

Observing Fri. 20th Jan. – decision at 5pm

20 01 2012

The forecasts for tonight are conflicting – some say mostly clear and some say cloudy.
I will wait to make a decision until about 5pm, which is 3 hours before sunset.
