A partial eclipse, during which the Moon will take on a reddish glow, will be visible from Australia on 26th June 2010.
The eclipse will begin at 8:16pm on the east coast of Australia and will cover half the Moon at 9:39pm before the shadow begins to withdraw. The eclipse will finish about 11pm Sydney time.

Thanks for the reminder. Hope the weather is clear on the night.

Remember, if you look at the eclipse directly you will become a werewolf.
Thanks for the reminder Peter.
That happened to me once, but I’m alright nowhowwwwwwwwwwwwllllll!
Great video by the way.
Here are some pictures I took:

Great pictures there Peter. Watching the eclipse was pretty awesome. Pity that the media did not talk about it much before hand. I was watching the Sydney Swans game as well as the moon at the time and the commentators suddenly pointed the cameras at the sky saying that something was going on with the moon…. possibly an eclipse. Probably took a lot of people by surprise….. those that noticed it.
Thanks Peter,
Took our foster son outside and had a look through our binoculars. He’s 8 and thought it was just “cool”.
By the way, so did I.
Yes, a pity the media don’t give these events some attention. Children just love these mysterious things.

Unfortunately I was unable to take any pictures as I was having some issues with my camera…. but the eclipse was a great event to watch and the pictures taken by Peter Nosworthy capture the event very nicely.
The next partial lunar eclipse will be seen in Australia on 21st December 2010 and will be seen just after the Sun has set.
I also shot some video…

Dear Peter,
Great job. Would you be interested in becoming NSAS’ official videographer?
Bob Fuller
Haha! I don’t know about ‘official’. That sounds like a heavy burden of responsibility.
But I’d certainly like to shoot some video at NSAS events in the future.
Hi Peter,
Thanks very much for the video above. That was enjoyable to watch and documented the night’s event very well. I was very impressed overall with how much work you have put into it. Well done.
Cheers
Roy
Thanks Roy.
